HED and Valid Join Forces to Drive Global eSIM Innovation with New Certified Operating System
HED and Valid, a leading provider of eSIM interoperable services, jointly announced that their co-developed SGP.22 V2.5-eSIM Operating System (OS) has fully passed the GSMA eUICC Security Assurance (eSA) certification. This major technological breakthrough will empower device manufacturers worldwide to deliver seamless and secure eSIM experiences to users.
According to GSMA Intelligence, the number of consumer-devices with eSIM support is expected to exceed 7 billion by 2030, highlighting the increasing demand for flexible connectivity in smart devices. In this rapidly expanding market, achieving full GSMA-compliant certification is essential for OEMs looking to stay competitive and scale globally.
This is the first GSMA eSA certified product from HED and it is also Valid’s first eSA certification based on a Chinese chip. This process established by the GSMA, validates the security and reliability of eSIM solutions. The certified OS is based on SGP.22 v2.5 and already integrates critical features from newer versions of the specification, including Multiple Enabled Profiles (MEP) and Device Change. These capabilities enable consumers to manage more than one mobile subscription and switch between devices with ease, enhancing user experience and making devices future-ready.
For HED, the certification represents a major step in expanding internationally. “This certification marks a key milestone in our global growth strategy,” said Nadeel Li HED Marketing director “ It’s a critical foundation as we bring smarter, more connected products to customers around the world.”
“We’re proud to celebrate this important certification alongside one of the respected device makers in China,” said José Manuel Castro, SVP of IoEM at Valid. “This successful collaboration reinforces Valid’s commitment to supporting Chinese OEMs with scalable, secure, and innovative eSIM technologies. It also highlights our strategic presence in China and our ability to deliver results quickly and with precision.”
